Council membership

The Council comprises the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, and twenty-three other members. The members comprise: (a) four elected heads of Colleges; (b) four elected Professors or Readers; (c) eight other elected members of the Regent House; (d) three student members (the Presidents of CUSU and the GU, and one elected student member); and (e) four appointed (external) members.
 
The University's Conflict of Interest Policy requires that members and regular attendees of the University's principal, central decision-making bodies and Head of Institutions declare any personal, financial or other interests (and/or those of their close personal contacts) which constitute existing or potential conflicts with their University duties via an annual declaration of interest form.  Members of the University's Council as trustees of an exempt Charity regulated by the OfS, have a legal duty to avoid conflicts of interests and to act in the best interests of the Charity.  Information on the interests of Council members can be found here:
