Dr Sachers studied comparative literature and languages in Munich and Cambridge and gained her PhD, on Goethe’s poetry, from the German Department at Cambridge. She subsequently lectured in German in Belfast and Oxford before moving into university administration, first at the University of Göttingen, and then at Cambridge in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and now as Director of Governance and Compliance (the division previously known as the Registrary's Office).
