I am Professor in Computing & Human-Data Interaction
in the Department of Computer Science & Technology, as well as Fellow and
President of Christ's College, and an elected member of the College's Council.
Prior to returning to Cambridge as a lecturer in 2015, I was a Fellow and then
Lecturer at the University of Nottingham (2009—2015), after founding a startup
(2008—2009), and working as a researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge
(2002—2008) and Sprint Advanced Technology Labs, California (2001—2002). Until
being elected to Council I was Chair of the University’s Board of Scrutiny for
the second time having first been elected to the Board in 2018. Outside the
University I am a member of the Technology Advisory Panel for the Investigatory
Powers Commissioner's Office, and founder and director of IKVA Limited.
I stood for Council because I would like to help the
University remain focused on its primary purpose: creating and disseminating
knowledge through research, scholarship and education.
