I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical
Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB) and a Fellow of Jesus College. I joined the
University in 2014, first as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the
Department of Engineering (CUED), moving in 2019 to CEB. I earned an M.Sc. in
Chemical Technology from AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow
(2008) and a PhD in Carbon Capture Technologies from GIG Central Mining
Institute, Katowice (2014). Between the two degrees and also during my PhD studies,
I worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Power Engineering in
Warsaw, where I performed most of my research and gained on-site experience
collaborating with large-scale power plants. This experience highlighted the
challenges of delivering clean energy to the population, motivating me further
to work in this space.
When working for the Council, I aim to support
the University in strengthening our leadership role in decarbonisation efforts,
new technologies, and strategies toward Net-Zero. I am also interested in the
use of AI in teaching and research, and bringing about social good.
