Project and Programme Governance


​The documents below form a framework to support:

    1. the consideration and making of IT investment decisions;
    2. monitoring the progress of IT projects and programmes;
    3. final sign off of projects and programmes once they have delivered against agreed objectives; and
    4. reviewing to distil lessons learnt.

​Document ​Purpose

Decision-making process

​To provide a framework in which decisions to invest in, initiate and control IT projects and programmes in the University can be effectively made.
 Boards ​To set out the purpose of project and programme boards, their membership, a description of roles and responsibilities and provide a template terms of reference for use when constituting and running such a board.
 ​Structure ​To provide an overview of the University’s governance structure with respect to information technology and services by identifying key committees and boards and their respective terms of reference and interrelationships. An overview of how project and programme governance fits within this structure is also set out
User Needs ​To consider user needs in the context of making investment decisions on future solutions with a focus on project and programme initiation and delivery.
