Mark Lewisohn graduated from Christ’s College in 1984 with a first class honours degree in History. After a 22 year interlude, he was reconnected to Cambridge through his appointment as a member of the Christ’s College Development Board which lasted for a seven year period. From 2008 to 2011, Mark also served as a member of the 800th Anniversary Campaign Council and from 2010 to 2012 as a member of the Cambridge-India Partnership Advisory Board. Through these various experiences, Mark’s knowledge and understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the University steadily grew. It was a natural development to join the Council and, until 2018 the Audit Committee, as an external member. Mark was appointed Deputy Chair of the Council from January 2019.
Mark has pursued a career in investment banking. For the past 25 years, he has worked at UBS where he is a Group Managing Director. In his role as Global Head of Telecom, Media and Technology, he has advised many companies around the world in relation to their strategic and financial objectives. Before joining UBS, Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Historical Research.
